Resumo: Introduction: The preventive, firefighting, medical emergencies and rescue functions require elevated level of physical fitness from military firefighters. Among the modalities of physical Training, Cross Training can be important for this public, since it promotes the improvement of aerobic and anaerobic resistance, strength, speed, flexibility, agility, motor coordination. There are few studies in the literature on the benefits of physical Training in firefighters. Objective: The aim of this study was to analyze the effects of a Cross Training program on anthropometric indicators, muscle strength and endurance, and cardiopulmonary capacity in military firefighters. Methods: Experimental study, with convenience sample (n=10). Anthropometric measurements, body mass, cardiopulmonary condition, velocity, abdominal and arm resistance were evaluated at baseline (Pre) and after thirty Training sessions in twelve weeks. Results: The anthropometric analyses did not show significant differences in the pre- to post-Training values. Regarding the tests of maximum repetition of arm flexion (Pre: 47.7 ± 8.9, Post: 49.3 ± 7.7) and abdominal (Pre: 41.8 ± 5.8, Post: 48.7 ± 4.7) showed significant difference. However, no significant differences were found in the velocity test and the cardiopulmonary test. Conclusion: The Cross Training brought significant adaptations to the physical fitness (abdominal resistance and arm resistance strength) of the firefighters of Jacareí-SP.
