Digital Repositories in Distance Education: Dialoging with Perceptions of UAB Teachers

Resumo: Abstract In the dynamic scenario of distance education, technological innovations arise and assume a prominent role in supporting teaching and learning processes, such as digital repositories (DR). Considering the importance of DR in the age of cyberculture, this research has as main objective to analyze the teachers’ perceptions of the Open University of Brazil (UAB) on digital repositories as tools to support teaching/learning processes in the context of distance education. In methodological terms, research is predominantly qualitative, although it relies on quantitative data in the context of results. The target audience is formed by teachers of the undergraduate courses, offered in the distance modality by the Open University of Brazil Program of a federal public institution of higher education. As an instrument of data collection, a mixed questionnaire was used, available in a digital medium. Through the answers obtained, it was possible to carry out analyzes and reflections on the importance of having a work to guide and use the repositories, so that the teachers know the purpose of DR and its relevance in the scope of a higher education institution. No cenário dinâmico da Educação a Distância (EaD), as inovações tecnológicas surgem e assumem papel de destaque para apoiar processos de ensino-aprendizagem, a exemplo dos repositórios digitais (RD). Tendo em vista a importância dos RD na era da cibercultura, esta pesquisa tem como objetivo principal analisar as percepções de docentes da Universidade Aberta do Brasil (UAB) sobre repositórios digitais como recursos educacionais de apoio aos processos de ensino-aprendizagem no contexto da EaD. Em termos metodológicos, a pesquisa revela-se predominantemente qualitativa, embora recorra a dados quantitativos na contextualização dos resultados. O público-alvo é formado por docentes dos cursos de licenciatura ofertados na modalidade a distância pelo programa da Universidade Aberta do Brasil de uma instituição pública federal de ensino superior. Como instrumento de coleta de dados, foi utilizado questionário misto, disponibilizado em meio digital. Por meio das respostas obtidas, foi possível realizar análises e reflexões sobre a importância de haver a necessidade de um trabalho para orientação e uso dos repositórios para que os docentes conheçam a finalidade dos RD e sua relevância no âmbito de uma instituição de ensino superior.  Palavras-chave: Educação a distância.
