Proposal and Evaluation of a Hybrid MOOC for the Development of Scientific Writing

Resumo: Text production is a routine practice that requires clarity regarding the aspects involved in its preparation. However, difficulties have been noticed by students during scientific writing, where the majority have doubts regarding genres, procedures and academic conventions. In order to minimize this problem, in this article we present the process of development, application and evaluation of a MOOC entitled “Introduction to Research in Informatics”, whose elaboration was based on the ADDIE model, having been evaluated in the courses of “Scientific Work Methodology” and “Research in Computing” of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science through a case study. For the evaluation, the ARCS model was used - which verifies students' motivation through self-reported levels of Attention, Relevance, Confidence and Satisfaction - and the Affect Grid technique, which evaluates the hedonic feelings experienced during the course. The results obtained showed good levels of student motivation in relation to the MOOC and positive hedonic feelings, indicating a good experience using the MOOC.   Keywords: Science writing. MOOC. ARCS. Affect grid. A produção textual é uma prática rotineira que exige clareza quanto aos aspectos que envolvem a sua elaboração. No entanto, tem-se percebido dificuldades por parte dos alunos durante a escrita científica, onde a maioria apresenta dúvidas quanto aos gêneros, procedimentos e convenções acadêmicas. A fim de minimizar este problema, neste artigo apresentamos o processo de desenvolvimento, aplicação e avaliação de um MOOC intitulado “Introdução à Pesquisa em Informática”, cuja elaboração baseou-se no modelo ADDIE, tendo sido avaliado nas turmas de Metodologia do Trabalho Científico e de Pesquisa em Computação de um curso de Bacharelado em Ciência da Computação por meio de um estudo de caso. Para a avaliação, utilizou-se o modelo ARCS - que verifica a motivação dos alunos através dos níveis autorrelatados de Atenção, Relevância, Confiança e Satisfação – e a técnica Affect Grid, que avalia os sentimentos hedônicos despertados durante o curso. Os resultados obtidos mostraram bons níveis de motivação dos alunos em relação ao MOOC e sentimentos hedônicos positivos, indicando uma boa experiência de uso do MOOC.    Palavras-chave: Escrita científica.
