Resumo:  This article engages in discussions on the 100 years of Distance Education (DE) in Brazil, reflecting on the 25 years since the implementation of this educational modality at the Federal University of Alagoas (UFAL). It aims to discuss the historical aspects of distance learning in Brazil, particularly the implementation process at UFAL and its contribution to the professional lives of individuals. The article seeks to investigate how DE/UAB/UFAL has impacted the professional development of individuals, 25 years after its implementation in Alagoas. The methodological approach involves bibliographic research based on reflections from researchers on the focused theme. The discussions not only highlight the historical context of DE in Brazil but also the trajectory, main challenges, and prospects of DE at UFAL. The overall results point to aspects that provide support for new studies in the DE landscape in Brazil.   Keywords: Distance education. 100 Years in Brazil. Formation.

Formation.   O presente artigo traz em sua temática discussões sobre os 100 anos da Educação a Distância (EaD) no Brasil, como também reflete a respeito dos 25 anos da implantação desta modalidade educacional na Universidade Federal de Alagoas (Ufal). Tem como objetivo discutir os aspectos históricos da EaD no Brasil, sobretudo o processo de implantação na Ufal e a contribuição para a vida profissional dos sujeitos. Busca responder qual a contribuição da EaD/UAB/Ufal para a formação profissional dos sujeitos, 25 anos após sua implantação em Alagoas. A abordagem metodológica desenvolve-se por meio da pesquisa bibliográfica, baseada nas reflexões de pesquisadores sobre a temática em foco. As discussões evidenciam não só o contexto histórico da EaD no Brasil, mas também a trajetória, os principais desafios e as perspectivas da EaD na Ufal. Os resultados, de forma geral, apontam aspectos que dão subsídios para novos estudos no cenário da EaD no Brasil.   Palavras-chave: Educação a distância. 100 Anos no Brasil.
