Assessment of learning ethics in elementary school

Resumo: | The objective of this qualitative research was to assess the learning of ethics in Elementary School. The hypothesis was that it is possible to learn ethics through virtues in Elementary School. This study used the Method Sucupira Lins method, which is based on Barbier’s sensible listening in addition to the active participation of researchers, which was established by Lins. The Sucupira Lins method provides support for students to help them understand what they are doing and how they can improve their ethical behavior. The theoretical foundation was Alasdair MacIntyre’s moral philosophy, which is based upon Aristotle’s philosophy of virtues, and Jean Piaget’s theory of moral judgment was also considered. Justice, Friendship, Honesty, Perseverance, and Temperance were the virtues we chose for this research. We observed how children practiced these virtues during the activities of the school day. Data were analyzed according to Laurence Bardin’s methodology, and the results showed that the children learned these virtues. We conclude that the research affirmed the hypothesis. |

Se planteo la hipotesis de que es posible aprender la etica a traves de las virtudes. Se utilizo el Metodo Sucupira Lins que esta basado en la Escucha Sensible de Barbier ademas de la participacion activa de los investigadores que fue establecido por Lins. El Metodo Sucupira Lins proporciona el apoyo a los estudiantes con el fin de hacerles entender lo que estan haciendo y como pueden mejorar su comportamiento etico. La fundamentacion teorica era la filosofia moral de A. MacIntyre que se basa en la filosofia de las virtudes de Aristoteles y la teoria del juicio moral de Piaget, tambien fue considerado. Justicia, Amistad, Honestidad, Perseverancia y Templanza fueron las virtudes elegidas. Se observo como los niños practican estas virtudes durante las actividades de dias de escuela. Los datos fueron analizados de acuerdo con la metodologia de Bardin y los resultados muestran que los niños aprendieron estas virtudes. Podemos concluir que la investigación respondio positivamente a la hipotesis.O objetivo desta pesquisa qualitativa foi avaliar a aprendizagem de etica no Ensino Fundamental. Hipotese: e possivel aprender etica por meio de virtudes no Ensino Fundamental. Nessa pesquisa ficou estabelecido o Metodo Sucupira Lins que tem base na Escuta Sensivel de Barbier, acrescentando-se a ativa participação de pesquisadores que foi estabelecida por Lins. O Metodo Sucupira Lins fornece apoio aos alunos para que entendam o que estao fazendo e possam melhorar seu comportamento etico. A fundamentação teorica foi a filosofia moral de Alasdair MacIntyre que e baseada na filosofia das virtudes de Aristoteles e a teoria do julgamento moral de J. Piaget tambem foi considerada. Justica, Amizade, Honestidade, Perseveranca e Temperanca foram as virtudes escolhidas para essa pesquisa. Foi observado de que modo criancas praticavam estas virtudes durante as atividades escolares. Os dados foram analisados de acordo com a metodologia de Laurence Bardin. Resultados mostram que as criancas aprenderam estas virtudes.
