Resumo: Cranium-encephalic traumatism is a public health problem with increasing fatal incidences and considerable social and economical damage. Since well-prepared professionals help lessen the harm, current investigation undertaken by a bibliographical review analyzes cranium-encephalic traumatism, its concepts, causes and consequences so that its application in prevention and pre-hospital medicine could be reported. Current studies details the anatomy and physiology involved in the above-mentioned traumatism. Bibliographic analysis employs secondary sources such as scientific articles, textbooks, theses and the web for data collection and analysis to provide to the health professional another source for the construction of technical and scientific knowledge. It will also maximize attendance to trauma patients so that consequences and physical disabilities could be decreased.

A assistência de profissionais bem capacitados pode minimizar esses danos. O objetivo deste trabalho foi estudar, por meio de uma revisão bibliográfica, o TCE, bem como seus conceitos, causas e consequências a fim de observar sua aplicação no campo da medicina preventiva e pré-hospitalar. Neste estudo buscou-se promover um conhecimento amplo sobre a anatomia e a fisiologia inserida no traumatismo.
