Resumo: Neuromuscle electric stimulation is a technique for muscle strengthening based on electric stimulation of the intramuscle branches of motor-neurons that induce muscular contraction. Authors do not agree on functional gains by employing the Russian current technique. Current analysis evaluates the effect of electro-stimulation with the Russian current technique on the triceps surae muscle on the power and resistance of the vertical jump. Assay comprised 16 volunteers who were divided into a control group (CG) and a electro-stimulated group (EG). Electro-stimulation occurred on three alternate days, during three weeks, with bilateral electrodes on the triceps surae muscle. Four evaluations were performed: one was prior to interventions (AV1); the other at the end of the evaluations (AV2), the third after two days from the previous (AV3) and the last after one month from the last electro-stimulation (AV4). Evaluation consisted of a 60-second continuous Vertical Jump Test which evaluated mean muscular potency (MMP) and the fatigue index (FI) of the jumps. There was no significant variation for the groups with regard to MMP and FI. Electro-stimulation by Russian current technique did not increase mean muscle potency and did not interfere in the fatigue index.

Saúde e Pesquisa; v. 7 n. 2 (2014): maio/ago.2176-9206reponame:Saúde e Pesquisa (Online)instname:Cesumar Diretoria de Pesquisainstacron:CESUMARporhttps://periodicos.unicesumar.edu.br/index.php/saudpesq/article/view/3444/2373Barbosa, Aline FernandesPeretti, Ana LuizaLara, Ellis Regina Medeiros deAmaro, Fernanda LucasynskiCarvalho, Alberito Rodrigo deBertolini, Gladson Ricardo Florinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess2020-09-04T14:09:50Zoai:ojs.pkp.sfu.ca:article/3444Revistahttps://periodicos.unicesumar.edu.br/index.php/saudpesqPUBhttps://periodicos.unicesumar.edu.br/index.php/saudpesq/oainaep@cesumar.br2176-92061983-1870opendoar:2020-09-04T14:09:50Saúde e Pesquisa (Online) - Cesumar Diretoria de Pesquisafalse
