Resumo: The aging process provides morphophysiological changes in the human organism, proper to age, and which directly affect the nutritional state of the elderly population. Current analysis evaluates the life style and nutritional profile of females attended in a nutritional clinic. Their life style, waist circumference (WC), body mass (BM) and height; later, the body mass index (BMI) of middle-aged (n=60) and elderly (n=24) females attended to at a nutritional clinic at the University of Cuiabá MT Brazil were calculated. Overweight/obesity prevalence according to BMI and that of increased risk/highly increased risk were verified according to the WC for both groups under analysis. Higher frequency of sedentary lifestyle in middle-aged (65.0%) was reported rather than in elderly (58.3%) females. Diseases were frequent in 73.3% middle-aged and 91.7% elderly females, whereas use of drugs featured 76.7% and 95.8% respectively in middle-aged and elderly females. Results show that sedentary lifestyles and possible nutritional issues contributed towards weight increase and risk increase in cardiometabolic diseases in middle-aged and elderly females. Nutritional guidance and the regular practice of physical activities are non-pharmacological requirements for a healthy lifestyle.

Nutritional guidance and the regular practice of physical activities are non-pharmacological requirements for a healthy lifestyle.O processo de envelhecimento favorece algumas alterações morfofisiológicas ao organismo, sendo as mesmas próprias da idade e que influenciam diretamente o estado nutricional dessa população.
