Resumo: Eclampsia is still a major cause of perinatal and maternal morbility and mortality in developing countries. Patients with eclampsia were identified in a retrospective study between may 2003 and april 2008 at the State University of West Paraná. Eclampsia was diagnosed in sixteen (0.6%) patients in 2666 deliveries. Mean age was 21.7 + 2.8 years, ranging from 15 to 34 years. Acute renal failure (ARF) was diagnosed in nine (56.3%) patients. Maternal and fetal mortality was 13.2%. This study shows that eclampsia presents a high risk for complications and affect young women.

Insuficiência renal aguda (IRA) foi diagnosticada em nove (56,3%) pacientes. A mortalidade materna e fetal foi de 13,2%. Este estudo mostra que a eclampsia apresenta alto risco de complicações e afeta mulheres jovens.Universidade Cesumar - UniCesumar2008-06-27info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionAvaliado por Paresapplication/pdfhttps://periodicos.unicesumar.edu.br/index.php/saudpesq/article/view/702Saúde e Pesquisa; Vol 1 No 1 (2008): jan./abr.; 21-23Saúde e Pesquisa; v. 1 n. 1 (2008): jan./abr.; 21-232176-9206reponame:Saúde e Pesquisa (Online)instname:Cesumar Diretoria de Pesquisainstacron:CESUMARporhttps://periodicos.unicesumar.edu.br/index.php/saudpesq/article/view/702/574Peres, Luis Alberto BatistaOliveira, Marcelo Palma deCardoso, Marcelo PontualBortolaz, Renata TelliRymsza, TacianaDalzotto, TatyellenAraújo Junior, Everaldo Roberto deBeppu, Ana Paula KazueGiacomini Filho, NorbertoYamamoto, Ricardo Yukiharu TsugePegoraro, Sibilainfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess2022-05-23T19:06:22Zoai:ojs.pkp.sfu.ca:article/702Revistahttps://periodicos.unicesumar.edu.br/index.php/saudpesqPUBhttps://periodicos.unicesumar.edu.br/index.php/saudpesq/oainaep@cesumar.br2176-92061983-1870opendoar:2022-05-23T19:06:22Saúde e Pesquisa (Online) - Cesumar Diretoria de Pesquisafalse
