Resumo: Pereskia aculeate, popularly known as “ora-pro-nobis”, belonging to the Cactaceae family, is a climbing shrub, little scientifically studied. In Brazil, it can be found from Bahia to Rio Grande do Sul, it is considered a rustic and persistent plant that grows in different soil types. Popularly, its leaves, besides being used as source of protein, are also used as emollient, where its fruits are used as expectorant and antisyphilitic, without reports of toxicity in the mitigation of inflammatory processes and recovery of skin in cases of skin burn. This study aimed at evaluating the healing capacity of the crude extract of Pereskia aculeate leaves in experimental skin wounds in rats. The methodology used was based on the preparation of the crude extract by soaking in alcohol 92.8% of Pereskia aculeata leaves. After lyophilization of the crude extract, the study of the healing action on skin wounds in rats was performed using 12 Wistar rats. By this study, it was observed that the application of the crude extract of Pereskia aculeata on skin wounds in rats indicates efficacy from the macroscopic point of view. Histologically, the study suggests that the extract has a beneficial effect on the initial healing, no pointing, however, difference in the phase of collagen and epithelium formation. The study pointed out that the crude extract of Pereskia aculeata presents a similar comparative effect from the microscopic point of view, but indicates an improvement in vascular and fibroblastic proliferation and in reepithelialization of animals. Macroscopically, the Pereskia group presented better healing effect.

Macroscopically, the Pereskia group presented better healing effect. Macroscopicamente o Grupo Pereskia apresentou melhor efeito cicatricial.Universidade Cesumar - UniCesumar2010-04-26info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionAvaliado por ParesPesquisa empíricaapplication/pdfhttps://periodicos.unicesumar.edu.br/index.php/saudpesq/article/view/1496Saúde e Pesquisa; Vol 3 No 2 (2010): maio/ago.Saúde e Pesquisa; v. 3 n. 2 (2010): maio/ago.2176-9206reponame:Saúde e Pesquisa (Online)instname:Cesumar Diretoria de Pesquisainstacron:CESUMARporhttps://periodicos.unicesumar.edu.br/index.php/saudpesq/article/view/1496/1069Sartor, Claudenice Francisca ProvideloAmaral, Valéria doGuimarães, Hudson Efrain TheodoroBarros, Kellen Nobre deFelipe, Daniele FernandaCortez, Lucia Elaine RanieriVeltrini, Vanessa Cristinainfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess2022-05-20T15:00:39Zoai:ojs.pkp.sfu.ca:article/1496Revistahttps://periodicos.unicesumar.edu.br/index.php/saudpesqPUBhttps://periodicos.unicesumar.edu.br/index.php/saudpesq/oainaep@cesumar.br2176-92061983-1870opendoar:2022-05-20T15:00:39Saúde e Pesquisa (Online) - Cesumar Diretoria de Pesquisafalse
