Resumo: Adolescence is culturally known as a critical phase in life, characterized by physical, social and emotional changes. These complex transformations, proper to human development, make possible the passage through a period of psychological instability. |Many adolescents require professional help during this phase. Current research characterizes the psychodiagnosis process with adolescents within the psychoanalytic paradigm. A survey was conducted on registers in electronic and library data bases on the development and evolution of theories and psychoanalytic techniques on psychodiagnosis and the clinical attendance to adolescents. The analysis of the articles revealed that adolescents are a population that may benefit from psychodiagnosis since it is possible, through a well-established holding, within a welcoming milieu, to decrease mental suffering and improve life quality.

Estas complexas transformações pertinentes ao desenvolvimento humano possibilitam ao adolescente passar por um período de instabilidade psicológica e muitos neste momento necessitam de ajuda profissional para atravessarem esta fase. Esta pesquisa visa caracterizar o processo de psicodiagnóstico com adolescentes dentro do paradigma psicanalítico. Foi realizado um levantamento de registros em bases de dados eletrônicas e bibliotecas sobre o desenvolvimento e evolução das teorias e técnicas psicanalíticas quanto à realização do psicodiagnóstico, bem como o manejo clínico com adolescentes.
