Resumo: Current investigation evaluates smokers’ knowledge on the effects triggered by inhaling tobacco. Quantitative research was undertaken in Barbosa Ferraz PR Brazil, with 47 randomly-chosen subjects, 22 females and 25 males, aged 18 years or over. People under 18 years were excluded and also those who did not accept the research terms. Results show that most smokers do not think in giving up smoking even though they believe that smoking causes many diseases, including cancer.

A pesquisa quantitativa foi realizada com 47 sujeitos, 22 do gênero feminino e 25 do gênero masculino, com idade igual ou superior a 18 anos, selecionados aleatoriamente. O critério de exclusão foi a idade inferior a 18 anos e a não aceitação dos termos da pesquisa.
