Resumo: Current research is a case study of a white 21-year-old female, to evaluate the effects of microdermoabrasion with crystals in the treatment of atrophic striae. Images were collected and a biopsy of a homogeneous stria was undertaken with procedures before and after treatment. The patient underwent ten sessions, one per week. Results showed an increase in fiberblasts with neovascularization, coupled to a return to algic sensitiveness and gradual normalization of the skin pigment and the restitution of the collagen filling. Microdermoabrasion with crystals may be a good option in the treatment of atrophic striae.

Microdermoabrasion with crystals may be a good option in the treatment of atrophic striae.Este trabalho trata de um estudo de caso com uma voluntária do sexo feminino, 21 anos, caucasiana e teve por objetivo avaliar os efeitos da microdermoabrasão com cristais no tratamento de estrias atróficas. Para isso foi feita a coleta de imagens e biopsia de uma estria homogênea, ambos os procedimentos foram realizados antes e após o tratamento. A paciente foi submetida a dez sessões, sendo essas uma vez por semana. Os resultados obtidos revelaram um aumento dos fibroblastos, permitindo uma neovascularização, obtendo-se o retorno da sensibilidade álgica e a normalização gradativa na pigmentação epidérmica, bem como a restituição do preenchimento de colágeno.
