This article is part of the doctoral thesis XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX. By addressing the youths’ theme, the argument aims to denaturalize ideas and current conceptions. Thus, the concept is detached as much as from the singular, youth, as from the term adolescence, considered, in many studies its synonym. Youths, in the plural, is also justified in the recognition of the existence of multiple juvenile experiences. This article is based on the sociology of youth. It dialogues with authors such as Luís Antônio Groppo (2016, 2017) in order to historicize distinct conceptions; Karl Mannheim (1993 [1928]); Marialice Foracchi  (1972) in terms of generation; and researchers like Mário Margulis and Marcelo Urresti (2000); Silvana Goellner (2003) in what involves social and vital moratoria, emphasizing, in the last one, matters relative to gender and body.
