Violence and Black Youth: A Study on the Child Protection Policy and Adolescents Threatened with Death

Resumo: The article analyzes the experience of the Program to Protect Children and Adolescents Threatened Death (PPCAAM) and challenges to face the lethal violence of youth in Brazil. From an interdisciplinary approach, which favors the deductive method, we examine legislation and national and international doctrine on the subject as well as data on the public served by PPCAAM in the year 2014. After consideration of these points, it can be conclude that PPCAAM, to act in a coordinated manner between different government bodies, can contribute to the social debate and in the prevention of the effects of violence against youth.
