Resumo: The present work analyzes the problematic of the human embryo as a subject of rights and endowed with dignity in the face of the freedom of assisted procreation. There are many questions that surround the challenges arising from the new rights in the area of biotechnology and the ethical and moral debates that involve the manipulation of embryos in these technologies regarding the respect for the dignity of these beings. The dignity of the human person is  value of great magnitude, which should serve as an axiological mainstay in progress that involves the human being and humanity as a whole.
