Resumo: The present article has for target to analyze aspects of the agency contract in the Brazilian legal order, bringing up the compensations for customers. To this end, we seek to explain, first, the historical overview of the agency contract, since its inception to its present stage of evolution, arguing its outstanding features and its role in today's trade. After these considerations, we focus on the main characteristics of the agency contract in Brazilian civil law, to discuss in more detail the costumers´ compensation.

Para tanto, buscamos expor, inicialmente, o panorama histórico do contrato de agência, desde seu surgimento até seu atual estágio de evolução, aduzindo suas características mais relevantes e seu papel determinante nas relações comerciais hodiernas.
