Resumo: This article proposes a reflection on the history of the recognition of quilombo land in Brazil, specifically in the Amazon capital, without forgetting to punctuate the historical events that took place in Brazil. When it comes to official recognition of land of the Quilombo communities, can not leave the culture of these next to people, but put it in the social and legal context, which is not something new in Brazil, although only in the XXI century, become more widespread it, because it allows the redefinition of values of these people considered traditional.
