The Reality of the Banking Agencies in João Pessoa-PB: Barriers to Accessibility for People With Disabilities

Resumo: This work is the result of research developed at the Federal University of Paraíba and CNPq whose purpose was, at first, to increase knowledge about the rights of people with disabilities. After the theoretical stage, bibliographic and documentary nature were confronted with the doctrinal and legal database on the subject with the gap on the concreteness of social reality. Thus, we evaluated the degree of regard and its effectiveness on accessibility in 90 public and private banks of João Pessoa / PB, through research carried out on site, in which not only architectural barriers have been identified, but behavior that violate rights and are urged to public policy effective.

Após a etapa teórica, de cunho bibliográfico e documental, confrontou-se o cabedal doutrinário e legal sobre o tema com o descompasso diante da concretude da realidade social.
