Resumo: Hunger, poverty and environmental degradation are not only national but international issues. Thus, they could be solved or at least be minimized through greater international cooperation. However, international cooperation is not automatic, even with awareness of these serious problems shared by significant portion of the world population. Furthermore, the interdependence that is being built between the states is asymmetric. Core States, in addition to obtaining more political and economic gains, can use their power to make their interests a priority, even if not hegemonic, when any question demands cooperation. Thus, in spite of producing technology capable of generating food, the little attention given to international politics in this issue-area can result in decreased production and worsening a situation particularly catastrophic.

Thus, in spite of producing technology capable of generating food, the little attention given to international politics in this issue-area can result in decreased production and worsening a situation particularly catastrophic. Imperial Editora do Colégio Pedro II2015-11-02info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionAvaliado pelos paresapplication/pdfhttps://portalespiral.cp2.g12.br/index.php/encontros/article/view/353Revista Encontros; Vol. 10 No. 19 (2012): Narrative & Representation; 73-91Revista Encontros; v. 10 n. 19 (2012): Narrativa & Representação; 73-912447-61961807-3867reponame:Revista Encontrosinstname:Colégio Pedro IIinstacron:CP2porhttps://portalespiral.cp2.g12.br/index.php/encontros/article/view/353/294C.
