Resumo: This paper presents a practice of teaching, whose purpose was to make students of high school capable of understanding the issues upon the dictatorship as a theme in the teaching of history. Considering the importance of practice as a tool which makes up a learning path, the activity has involved debate, survey and statistical analysis. It is worth highlighting the engagement of students in this activity and mapping of their opinions about the dictatorship.

It is worth highlighting the engagement of students in this activity and mapping of their opinions about the dictatorship. Este texto apresenta uma prática pedagógica, cujo objetivo era envolver a participação dos alunos na compreensão da problemática em torno do tema “Ditadura”, na disciplina de História. Encaro a prática como uma estratégia de ensino considerando-a como uma ferramenta que compõe um caminho de aprendizagem. A atividade envolveu debate, pesquisa de opinião e análise estatística sobre o tema Ditadura.
