THE BRAZILIAN MEDIA AND VENEZUELA BY HUGO CHAVEZ: an analysis of discourses made by O Globo and Carta Capital.

Resumo: This present text was inserted in a broader scientific initiation research project involving international political conflicts of our time, from a survey of high school and International Relations in the Brazilian media. The research was CNPq scholarship, being guided by Professor Dr. Adjovanes T. S. de Almeida, and sought to develop an analysis on how the Brazilian media faced certain issues involving the Venezuela of Hugo Chavez, especially as regards the incorporation of the country to MERCOSUR and the electoral process occurred in 2012. With regard to the proposed theme, our article comprises the following steps: first, we present the political history of Venezuela since the inauguration of Hugo Chavez (1999); then analyze the country's accession to MERCOSUR and, soon after, the electoral process, noting comparatively the role of selected Brazilian media.

A pesquisa contou com bolsa do CNPq, sendo orientada pelo professor doutor Adjovanes T. S. de Almeida, e buscou desenvolver uma análise acerca da forma como a mídia brasileira encarou certas questões envolvendo a Venezuela de Hugo Chávez, principalmente o que concerne à incorporação do país ao MERCOSUL e o processo eleitoral ocorrido no ano de 2012.
