A teoria das Representações Sociais tem sido empregada na tentativa da compreensão de fenômenos associados à saúde e a doença, tanto no contexto da psicologia social quanto no âmbito da educação em saúde e dos estudos socioantropológicos acerca da relação/doença. Essa pesquisa teve por objetivo compreender as Representações Sociais da doença Aids elaboradas por monitores de três Escolas Famílias Agrícolas da Bahia. Para isso, foram entrevistados através de um roteiro semiestruturado treze monitores de três dessas escolas. As respostas foram submetidas à análise de conteúdo de Bardin e os resultados indicam que as representações sociais da Aids no meio rural ainda são de medo e preconceito. Como a doença AIDS, ainda é vista como um tabu social, isso influência nas maneiras de abordagem e dificultam o emprego de metodologias que ultrapassem o aprisionamento disciplinar. A precariedade na formação dos monitores dessas escolas, junto dos problemas financeiros que as EFA \2019s têm passado, também têm influenciado na qualidade do ensino. Com um dos principais pilares de formação baseado na Pedagogia da Alternância, as EFA\2019s atuam na tentativa de promover a formação e a emancipação dos sujeitos e do desenvolvimento do meio nas comunidades rurais. Os dados apontam para a necessidade de maior aprofundamento acerca das questões da educação em saúde no campo, do diálogo da Educação do Campo com as metodologias de estudo e abordagem da saúde/doença na contemporaneidade e da aproximação entre as esferas públicas de educação e saúde na proposição de ações efetivas que tratem das escolas do campo, bem como da saúde das populações campesinas Abstract: The theory of social representations have been used in the attempt of understanding of phenomena associated with health and disease both in the context of social psychology when in health in education and socio-anthropological studies about the relationship / disease. This research aimed to understand the social representations of AIDS disease developed by monitors three Schools of Bahia Agricultural Families. For this, we interviewed through a script 13 monitors three this schools. The responses were submitted to Bardin content analysis and the results indicate that the social representations of AIDS in rural areas are still of fear and prejudice. As the AIDS disease is still seen as a social taboo, that influence the approach ways and hinder the use of methodologies that go beyond the disciplinary imprisonment. Insecurity in the training of monitors these schools with financial problems that EFA's have passed, have also influenced the quality of education. With one of the main pillars of education based on the Pedagogy of Alternation, the EFA's have been active in trying to promote the formation and emancipation of the subjects and the medium development in rural communities. The data point to the need for deeper understanding about health education issues in rural areas, the Education in rural areas dialogue with the study methodology and approach to health / disease in contemporary and approach between the public spheres of education and health in propose effective actions that address the schools in the field as well as the health of rural populations
