Resumo: Em 67 pacientes psiquiátricos limítrofes que sofrem de distúrbios esquizofrênicos / esquizofrênicos de desenvolvimento lento e 18 pacientes que sofrem de ciclotimia, a estrutura fatorial dos parâmetros de período (amplitude do intervalo) do EEG provou ser semelhante à obtida em indivíduos normais durante a atividade mental e relatada na parte I (Lazarev, Int. J. Psychophysiol., 28 (1998) 77-98). No entanto, 51 pacientes com distúrbios esquizotípicos com predominância da sintomatologia do tipo astênico, caracterizados por distúrbios leves do pensamento com dificuldade em concentrar a atenção, foram distinguidos de indivíduos normais, pacientes ciclotímicos e outros pacientes de esquizotipia sem sintomas astênicos bem definidos por valores significativamente aumentados do fator EEG II, que foi positivamente relacionado à presença de índice na época, frequência e regularidade das ondas beta de baixa amplitude e valores reduzidos de um fator EEG III correlacionado positivamente com o período alfa médio e o índice teta. De acordo com dados normativos (parte I; Lazarev, Int. J. Psychophysiol., 28 (1998) 77-98), isso provavelmente reflete um desequilíbrio neurodinâmico entre um excesso de 'excitação cortical' (Fator II) e um déficit de 'ativos inibição seletiva »(fator III). Esse desequilíbrio parece ser oposto às alterações nos valores desses fatores encontrados em indivíduos normais durante o foco de atenção e automação motora, quando comparado com a vigília relaxada. As propriedades funcionais dos fatores II e III atribuídas com base em testes psicológicos sugerem que esse desequilíbrio pode refletir uma predominância de processos mentais associativos sucessivamente organizados sobre a inibição seletiva de associações irrelevantes. Isso pode causar dificuldades na atenção voluntária, na automação mental e na realização de operações mentais simultâneas. Na maioria dos casos, não houve diferença no fator I, que foi positivamente relacionado ao índice, amplitude e regularidade da atividade alfa e amplitudes de onda em outras bandas, e negativamente relacionado aos índices e períodos médios das ondas delta e teta, o fator presumido para representar 'ativação geral'.

J. Psychophysiol., 28 (1998) 77-98). However, 51 patients with schizotypal disorders with a predominance of asthenic-like symptomatology, characterized by mild thought disorders with difficulty in focusing attention, were distinguished from normal subjects, cyclothymic patients and other patients of schizotypy without well-defined asthenic symptoms by significantly increased values of EEG Factor II which was positively related to the index-presence in epoch, frequency and regularity of low-amplitude beta-waves, and reduced values of an EEG Factor III which was positively correlated with mean alpha-period and theta-index. According to normative data (part I; Lazarev, Int. J. Psychophysiol., 28 (1998) 77-98), this probably reflects a neurodynamic imbalance between an excess of 'cortical excitation' (Factor II) and a deficit of 'active selective inhibition' (Factor III). This imbalance appears to be opposite to the changes in values of these factors found in normal subjects during focusing attention and motor automation, when compared with relaxed wakefulness. The functional properties of Factors II and III ascribed on the basis of psychological testing suggest that such an imbalance could reflect a predominance of successively organised associative mental processes over the selective inhibition of irrelevant associations. This could cause difficulties in voluntary attention, mental automation and in the performance of simultaneous mental operations. In most cases, there was no difference in Factor I which was positively related to the index, amplitude and regularity of alpha-activity and wave amplitudes in other bands, and negatively related to the indices and mean periods of delta- and theta-waves, the factor presumed to depict 'general activation'.Fundação Oswaldo Cruz.
