Resumo: The current Brazilian state ostensive policing system, represented by the Military Police, although widely adopted around the world, faces intense criticism, therefore, it becomes even more important to understand the need for such a system. This paper presents an analysis of the Brazilian model of policing of military investiture to assess the role of this essential institution and point out legal provisions related to it. The monograph is based on an exploratory research approaching classic authors of the matter and scientific articles by professionals in the field, at the end it will be considered an empirical research. It was found that despite the fallacies, people want the Military Police as an ostensible state police force, but they also believe that with a stricter selection and training courses with more elaborate criteria, they can train even better police officers.

Este trabalho apresenta uma análise acerca do modelo brasileiro de policiamento de investidura militar para avaliar o papel dessa instituição essencial e apontar dispositivos jurídicos referentes a mesma. A monografia é baseada em uma pesquisa exploratória abordando autores clássicos da matéria e artigos científicos de profissionais da área, ao final será apresentada uma pesquisa empírica.
