Avaliação qualitativa do perfil das empresas de biotecnologia do estado do Paraná quanto à pesquisa, desenvolvimento e inovação industrial

The global economy requires most companies to insert in a competitive context of high level. Industries in a region in the world compete with others in the same segment even though they are thousands of miles away. One of the alternatives found by successful business is investment in research, development and industrial innovation. No escaping this context, the biotechnology industry with its technological characteristics demonstrates the imminent need to be competitive in their products and industrial processes. Thus the research, development and innovation are contextualized as fundamental to their development and survival in the global market. It is necessary to know the level of competitiveness of biotech companies in the state of Parana. It is thus the same as the commitment of the research, development and innovation in their products and processes. This work was utilization standard questionnaire of the IBGE in its survey of technological innovation (PINTEC). This questionnaire measures availed items as the level of firms, universities and related research, knowledge management and investments. With the data we sought to evaluate in a comparative data obtained by PINTEC (2008) in companies in Brazil in general and companies in Paraná. In order to complement the research was inserted an innovative diagnostic tool developed by FIEP (Federation of Industries of the State of Paraná) through the International Centre of Innovation (C2i). It is covered in this survey areas such as full management of sustainability, managing creative environments, management of technology, management and administration of fomentations entrepreneurship. The research included 45 companies giving participants a real sense of the level of innovation in the industry. The data are shown in tables and charts, creating an interesting display in many data compared with companies in Brazil and Paraná in general. On many items the biotech industry in the state of Paraná showed a high potential for innovation. A high potential for industrial growth is presented. The potential for innovation in products and processes skilled labor for this sector was also very well characterized through the data.
