Saúde mental dos profissionais de saúde no enfrentamento do covid-19: uma revisão integrativa

With the discovery of COVID-19, society has not only become ill from the virus that causes respiratory tract infections, but has triggered some signs of an affected mental health such as stress, fear, anxiety, among others. This mental illness has not only affected people who are remaining in isolation to preserve their health, but mainly health professionals who have been working on the front lines in the fight against the new coronavirus. With this, the objective of this study is to investigate scientific evidence from the literature on the mental health of health professionals in coping with COVID-19. It was an integrative literature review, carried out through searches in the PubMed, MedRxiv and Scopus databases. As inclusion criteria, articles were considered available in full on the topic addressed, indexed in virtual libraries and published in Portuguese, Spanish or English, with the possibility of access to online publication and that were published between the period of 2019 to 2020. Publications related to articles with impossibility of access in full were excluded; repeated publications in the databases; theses; dissertations, monographs and studies that dealt with the mental health of health professionals, but that had no correlation with COVID-19. The descriptors chosen to select the data collection were: mental health, covid-19, health professionals with their corresponding correspondents in English: mental health, COVID-19, health professionals with the Boolean search engine AND and OR. 27 articles were initially found, which analyzed title and / or summary, objective, sample and results using the rubric as a research tool, thus leaving only 6 articles addressing the mental health of health professionals in coping with COVID-19. of the analyzed publications were organized into two thematic axes: psychological impacts of health professionals in coping with COVID-19; and health care for professionals with mental illness. Studies show that there are factors that trigger the mental illness of professionals in the work environment, such as the high demand of patients infected by COVID-19, the lack of PPE, the risk of contamination, among other factors that triggered mental illness such as stress, anxiety, fear and other feelings, care strategies for prevention and promotion of mental illness among health professionals also stand out. However, there is a need for further research on the subject, given the scarcity of Brazilian literature on the subject.
