A relação das características de organização de incubadoras de empresas de base tecnológica e seus resultados: um estudo em incubadoras brasileiras

Technologic basis business incubators are considered an alternative to instigate the entrepreneurship, the innovation, the job and income creation, the companies´ maintenance and consequently, the local and regional development. However, in spite of the high numbers of incubators and the investment on them, the initiatives of results evaluation are limited; just a few is known about their success in the purpose of supporting the creation and the development of new business. Within this context, the present research tried to evaluate, in a Brazilian level, how the characteristics of the organization of technological basis business incubators (IEBT´s – Portuguese abbreviation) are related to their results. Because of the proposed objectives, this study is descriptive-exploratory in nature and analytical in a qualitative and quantitative (mixed) approach. The study had a first exploratory step that included qualitative data collecting and analysis. In analyzing the results of this first stage, together with the theoretical framework, it was developed a second descriptive and quantitative stage, survey kind research strategy, through which it was obtained a sample of 97 searched incubators, in a universe of 112 technological basis business incubators. By means of data analysis and information it was confirmed that there is a positive, of weak intensity, relation between the organization characteristics of the technological basis business incubators and their results. In relation to the intervening variables as portage, bonding and time of existence, it was observed that they did not influence in the relation between the technologic basis business incubators and their results.
