Resumo: Qualitative research motivated by the identification of non-conventional forms of organization among families linked to agricultural production in a small rural property, residents in the remaining communities of German immigration, in Southern Brazil. The purpose was to understand how the action orientation reflects in the shared meanings of organizing ways of the agricultural production between farming families, in the municipality of São Bonifácio – SC. It was used the multiple case study method. In total, there were 13 cases of families who work in agricultural production. The selection of cases occurred intentionally, and data collection happened from September 2014 to June 2015. The semi-structured interviews and direct observations were performed with members of the 13 families and totaling 27 participating members. Also, there were broad readings from each case data, enabling the identification of meanings aligned with primary elements, categories and subcategories. Three organization ways were identified when comparing the organizing methods of families’ agricultural production: integrated, non-integrated and semi-integrated. The emerging categories of analysis about methods of agricultural production organization were the production orientation for market and self-consume; difficulties, resources and production changes; labor division; organization of time and its meaning; the meaning of the outcomes and other meanings such as the importance of being a farmer and permanence of young people in the property. Shared meanings revealed that the action guided by instrumental rationality was more evident in the group I, associated with the integrated mode, in which the production is orientated to the production chain of birds. In groups II and III, the ways of organizing production showed the action orientation related to customs and traditions still present, and collaborative relationships and exchanges that pointed out substantial social relations. The action guided by affection was evident from the family members’ expectations, and it was identified in the three modes of organization. Evidence of social action oriented by the tradition has been identified through actions and observations of customs that have been reproduced due ancestry knowledge and were distinguished among the groups of families. Resources sharing and inter-family cooperative relations, linked to the collaborative work in the parties, revealed evidence of social relations substantivity. Furthermore, it was possible to identify similarities and differences between aspects related to the objectives, labor division and control, in the comparison of organizing modes of families’ production with elements linked to formal organizations. The research found evidence that other action guidelines based on emotional ties between the families’ members and practices guided by customs and traditions are still present although the instrumental rationality permeates the meanings shared between the different ways of organizing. The study helped to reveal that between non-conventional forms of organizing, other action guidelines are present in addition to the typical rationality of formal and hegemonic organizations, in the contemporary society.

Universidade PositivoBrasilPós-GraduaçãoPrograma de Pós-Graduação em AdministraçãoUPSeifert Jr, René Eugeniohttp://lattes.cnpq.br/6230394706150406Boehs, Carlos Gabriel Eggert2021-09-29T19:16:26Z20162021-09-29T19:16:26Z2016info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/doctoralThesisapplication/pdfhttps://repositorio.cruzeirodosul.edu.br/handle/123456789/2817porinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessreponame:Repositório do Centro Universitário Braz Cubasinstname:Centro Universitário Braz Cubas (CUB)instacron:CUB2021-10-14T15:15:35Zoai:repositorio.cruzeirodosul.edu.br:123456789/2817Repositório InstitucionalPUBhttps://repositorio.brazcubas.edu.br/oai/requestbibli@brazcubas.edu.bropendoar:2021-10-14T15:15:35Repositório do Centro Universitário Braz Cubas - Centro Universitário Braz Cubas (CUB)false
