Resumo: | The aim of this study was to evaluate whether the type of ultrasonic insert, E1 or E5, influences the removal capacity of calcium hydroxide paste in teeth with simulated internal root resorption (IRR) cavities. Seventy-two single-channel human anterior teeth were randomly divided into 8 experimental groups (n=12) according to the insert used, E1 or E5; direction of use of the insert, mesiodistal (MD) or buccolingual (VL); and insert insertion depth, 3mm or 5mm from the root apex: E1-MD3, E1-VL3, E1-MD5, E1-VL5, E5-MD3, E5-VL3, E5-MD5, E5-VL5 and 2 control groups ( n=12): positive control (C+), negative control (C-). The same specimens were analyzed in group E1 and E5. The canals were prepared with a Reciproc® R50 instrument (50/.05). Cavities 5 mm from the root apex were created with a spherical diamond tip to simulate an RRI, and the canals were filled with calcium hydroxide paste. The irrigation protocol was performed with 3 cycles of 30 s with 2.5% sodium hypochlorite and 3 cycles of 30 s with 17% EDTA using inserts E1 and E5 inserted at 3 and 5 mm from the root apex in the mesiodistal directions and buccolingual. The specimens were cleaved and photographed with optical microscopy at 20x magnification to assess the remainder of the calcium hydroxide paste. Statistical analysis was performed using the Kruskal– Wallis, Mann–Whitney U and Wilcoxon tests, with a significance level of 5%. The E1 insert provided greater cleaning of the simulated RRI cavities, there was a statistically significant difference between the E1 and E5 inserts in the MD direction at 3 and 5mm from the root apex (p<0.05). It can be concluded that the E1 insert provided simulated RRI cavities with less remaining amount of calcium hydroxide. |

Universidade PositivoBrasilOdontologiaPPG1UPTomazinho, Flávia Sens Fagundeshttp://lattes.cnpq.br/2908794051538663Morodome, Helena Motoe2022-10-06T18:13:47Z20212022-10-06T18:13:47Z2021info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesisapplication/pdfhttps://repositorio.cruzeirodosul.edu.br/handle/123456789/4077porinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessreponame:Repositório do Centro Universitário Braz Cubasinstname:Centro Universitário Braz Cubas (CUB)instacron:CUB2022-10-06T18:14:47Zoai:repositorio.cruzeirodosul.edu.br:123456789/4077Repositório InstitucionalPUBhttps://repositorio.brazcubas.edu.br/oai/requestbibli@brazcubas.edu.bropendoar:2022-10-06T18:14:47Repositório do Centro Universitário Braz Cubas - Centro Universitário Braz Cubas (CUB)false |
