Resumo: | Objective: to review the main studies published in the last 10 years on the cementation stage of ceramic laminates, evaluating their aspects and the most important variables associated with clinical longevity. Methods: searches were carried out in the PubMed, Science Direct and BVS (MedLine/LILACS/BBO Dentistry) databases in March and April 2021, where 274 articles were found, among which 13 studies were chosen according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The follow-up time for the included studies is equal to or greater than five years. Results: the studies indicate that ceramic laminates are a safe treatment that show high survival rates, above 10 years. However, they can fail when they are not correctly indicated and executed. The main clinical failures identified in the literature were cracks and cohesive fractures, discoloration, and marginal pigmentation. Conclusion: for the clinical success of restorations with ceramic laminates, it is essential to carefully observe the variables that make up the cementation protocols, as well as the technical identification of possible problems. The cementation stage must be well studied and planned in reverse. |

O tempo de acompanhamento dos estudos incluídos é igual ou superior a cinco anos. Resultados: os estudos apontam que os laminados cerâmicos são um tratamento seguro que mostra altas taxas de sobrevivência, superior a 10 anos. Entretanto, podem apresentar falhas quando não são corretamente indicados e executados. As principais falhas apontadas na literatura foram trincas e fraturas coesivas, alterações de cor e pigmentações marginais. Conclusão: para o sucesso clínico das restaurações com laminados cerâmicos, é imprescindível a observação criteriosa das variáveis que compõem os protocolos de cimentação, bem como a identificação técnica dos possíveis problemas.
