Resumo: | The number of cesarean sections performed in Brazil has increased substantially in recent years, contrary to public policies, which aim at a humanized and vaginal delivery. Since this is a surgical procedure that entails risks, the number of cesarean sections performed without formal indication can result in several maternal and fetal complications, directly impacting mortality. The aim of this article is to evaluate the hypothesis of an increase in the number of cesarean sections after the implementation of Law 20,127 of 15/01/2020, as well as the impact on costs for the ''Unic Health Sistem'' (SUS) and, additionally, to trace relationships with gestational and maternal characteristics. For this purpose, 331 medical records of pregnant women who went through elective cesarean section in a public maternity hospital in Curitiba from January to September of 2020 were analyzed, after the approval of the Law and subsequently, a comparison to the same period of the years 2018 and 2019. The main results were a statistically significant increase of 47,18% in the number of cesarean sections between the years 2018 and 2020, with p<0,001, but without a significant increase in SUS costs (R$32 305,71). In conclusion, it is observed that there is a tendency in society to perform cesarean sections, especially after the implementation of the Law, and that the excess cost during the period evaluated was not significant for the Hospital in question. |

In conclusion, it is observed that there is a tendency in society to perform cesarean sections, especially after the implementation of the Law, and that the excess cost during the period evaluated was not significant for the Hospital in question.O número de cesarianas realizadas no Brasil vem aumentando substancialmente nos últimos anos contrariando as políticas públicas, sendo que estas visam o parto vaginal e humanizado. Universidade PositivoBrasilMedicinaUPReda, Somaiahttp://lattes.cnpq.br/6083370387158355Neto, ErastoPazin, DaianeYanase, Arthur KohatsuHadlich, Laura Edla RönauWendramin, Natalia AlbanoOliveira, Paula Haus deTaborda, Rosangela Ramirez2022-05-05T18:02:13Z20222022-05-05T18:02:13Z2021info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/bachelorThesisapplication/pdfhttps://repositorio.cruzeirodosul.edu.br/handle/123456789/3692porinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessreponame:Repositório do Centro Universitário Braz Cubasinstname:Centro Universitário Braz Cubas (CUB)instacron:CUB2022-05-05T18:04:21Zoai:repositorio.cruzeirodosul.edu.br:123456789/3692Repositório InstitucionalPUBhttps://repositorio.brazcubas.edu.br/oai/requestbibli@brazcubas.edu.bropendoar:2022-05-05T18:04:21Repositório do Centro Universitário Braz Cubas - Centro Universitário Braz Cubas (CUB)false |
