Resumo: | In the exercise of their activity of maintaining security and public order, military police officers are different from other civil servants for their work environment, for their diverse and specific work situations, for their routine exposure to situations of health and life risks. This study aims to identify the main health and well-being problems of the military policemen of the 3rd CIA / 7ºBPM caused by labor activity. The research consisted of a cross-sectional observational field study, of an analytical character, with a quantitative approach. The sample is a simple random type, including the military police officers present at the time of the research, who agreed to participate in the study, by signing the informed consent form (ICF). The research instruments chosen were a sociodemographic questionnaire and a questionnaire designed to assess the influence of operational activity on the quality of life of the military. The sample is made up of 50 military police officers belonging to the 3rd Company, calculated from EpiInfo. The research instruments chosen were a sociodemographic questionnaire and the “health aspect questionnaire”, which had its reliability attested by Cronbach's Alpha, containing 30 questions, both of their own authorship and that assessed, respectively, the socio-demographic profile of the police and the influence of labor activity on the health and well-being of the military. The questionnaires were applied through Google Forms, the data filled in the Microsoft Excel spreadsheet and later analyzed by SPSS software version 20.0. The study followed the rules of CNS Resolution 466/2012. The audience was 3 women and 47 men, with an average of 38.2 years of age. Almost all participants, about ninety percent (n = 45) of the interviewees, complained of some kind of alteration in sleep resulting from work activity and sixty percent (n = 30) of the participants fully agreed on the statement “ I consider that I am MORE STRESSED, since I started working in the Police ”and, about fifty-two percent (n = 26), believe that they are more anxious, compared to before they entered the Institution. According to the results of the non-parametric Chi-square test, the data showed a value of P = 0.000 <0.05, evidencing the hypothesis that work activity has an influence on the health of military police, where 54% (n = 27) of the participants partially and / or totally agreed that their health, in general, is EQUAL to individuals of the same age group. About 32% (n = 16) disagree fully and / or partially, considering their health LESS than individuals of the same age group, and 14% (n = 7) believe that their health is SUPERIOR to individuals of the same age group. Thus, it is evident that the Police consider that their health is equal to individuals of the same age group, followed by those who consider their health inferior, when compared to individuals of the same age group, but who do not belong to the Military Police of the State of Paraíba. |
