Resumo: | Introduction: The Anaesthetic Recovery Room, is the place where the patient undergoing anaesthetic-surgical procedure should remain, under constant observation and care of the nursing team, until there is recovery of consciousness, stability of motor functions and stabilization of vital signs. It is necessary that the patient has full knowledge of the type of surgical approach that will be performed, the intraoperative and the possible complications caused after anaesthesia, being psychologically prepared not only for what to expect from the surgical procedure, but also for the Surgical Center environment. Objective: To describe the main complications, in the Anaesthetic Recovery Room, experienced by patients submitted to anaesthetic surgical procedures. Method: a literature review study, with articles related to national and international scientific production in the health area. With search in the databases: Medline, LILACS, SOBECC, BDENF, in the period of ten years, published in Portuguese, English and Spanish. The search resulted in 19 articles. Results: according to all the data that were analyzed, the study samples make it clear that the patient submitted to anesthetic-surgical procedure should be received by the Nurse upon arrival at the Surgical Center, where personal data, allergies, tests and procedure to be performed will be confirmed. Then receives preanesthetic evaluation with an anaesthesiologist, this pre-anaesthetic consultation generates safety for the patient and team. Throughout the surgical procedure, in the operating room, each step to be performed is confirmed with the entire room team, in order to ensure and establish patient safety. At the end of the procedure the patient recovers from the anaesthetic effects in the anaesthetic recovery room until there is recovery of consciousness, stability of motor functions and vital signs. In this postoperative period, the patient may present some complications, such as: acute pain, hemorrhage, hypothermia, hypotension, hypertension, hypoxemia, adverse respiratory events, dryness, delirium, tremors, nausea, and vomiting. It is up to the nurse to identify these complications and provide the best-indicated care. Conclusion: with the collection of data from the present study, it can be concluded that surgery is a very common procedure, either electively, for aesthetic purposes or even urgency/emergency, where there is a short period of preparation and analysis of the conditions presented by the patient, and the risk of complications is more imminent. Therefore, the health professionals involved in the perioperative period have the duty to evaluate the previous history of this patient and his health condition, which includes complete anamnesis, laboratory and imaging tests, in addition to dialoguing with the patient and family members to clarify everything that will be performed, to make everyone safer from the procedure and all its stages. |
