Propósito comunicativo no gênero nota de esclarecimento: movimentos retóricos para explicar e argumentar

This dissertation is situated in the Text, discourse and teaching: processes of reading and production of written and spoken text research line of the Postgraduate Program in Linguistics, Universidade Cruzeiro do Sul, and its main subject the communicative purposes of the textual genre note of clarification. Considering that textual genres are supposed to organize the forms of interaction and communication, and carry with them a communicative purpose, which gives them a social dimension, the present research is justified by the dissemination of note of clarification in the present times. The general objective of this research is investigate the communicative purpose in the textual genre clarification note in certain situated social practices. In order to achieve this major purpose, the following specific objectives have been established: 1) identify rhetorical movements in the genre note of clarification; 2) verify the communicative purposes of the notes of clarification and 3) analyze how the rhetorical movements in dialogue with the explanatory textual sequences supports the communicative purposes of the notes of clarification. The theoretical contribution that underlies this research is mostly constituted by the assumptions of socio-rhetorical (BIASI-RODRIGUES, 1998; SWALES, 1990; BIASI-RODRIGUES, HEMAIS, 2005; BAWARSHI, REIFF, 2013; BEZERRA (2006, 2017), MILLER, 2012; BAZERMAN, 2006), of Textual Linguistics (PASSEGGI et al., 2010, ADAM, 2008, SILVA, 2012) and by the genre studies of (BAKTHIN, 2003; MARCHUSCHI, 2008; MACHADO, 2005). The corpus consists of six notes of clarification. The chosen categories of analysis are the rhetorical movements and explanatory textual sequences. The results pointed out that, although the textual genre note of clarification is configured within explanatory rhetorical movements, it presents an argumentative intention, since the enunciator acts rhetorically, with the argumentative purpose of safeguarding its image.
