Introduction: Physical therapy plays an important role in the rehabilitation of skin lesions. Using the therapeutic resource of ozone therapy, it is possible to carry out an alternative treatment for chronic injuries. Objective: To conduct a systematic review of articles found on the resolvability of injuries and wounds using ozone as the main treatment. Method: The Google Academic, PubMed, Scielo and PEDro databases were consulted, in which 55, 32, 52 and 1 results were found, respectively. Articles were duly included in the review when they were relevant to the current study and fit the PEDro scale with an index greater than 5, and were excluded when they did not fit the keywords, were prior to 2011, were outside the research platform or were articles of review. Results: 11 articles were selected among all the above. Conclusion: It was found that ozone therapy, when performed by a trained professional, is a viable treatment as it is effective in healing chronic injuries. However, more studies with larger and current samples are important to make ozone therapy a reliable treatment for chronic injuries.
