Resumo: Horses are subject to the development of injuries because they are physically required in functional tests, work and leisure. Among the structures that can be affected, the suspensory ligament of the fetlock has a high incidence. The study evaluated by ultrasound, the suspensory ligament of the fetlock and its branches in horses of the Criollo breed, measuring the transverse area, circumference, width and thickness of the structures, determining normal reference ultrasound values that can be used to diagnose lesions. For this, thirteen mares and six healthy horses over two years old were used in this study. For ultrasound examination, the animals were in quadrupedal position, with trichotomy and previous cleaning of the area. The ultrasound device used was the Esaote MyLab 30 Vet Gold, equipped with a 5-12 MHz multifrequency transducer. The images generated were analyzed and measured using the ImageJ® software, made by a single evaluator and performed three times in each zone, using the average value of the measurements, thus reducing the inter-rater variation. Data analysis was performed descriptively by calculating arithmetic means and standard deviations of morphometric variables, with a confidence interval of 95%. The values determined in the study were different from those found in other studies with different breeds, showing the importance of determining specific reference values for each breed.

Universidade PositivoBrasilMedicina VeterináriaUPSchade, Jacksonhttp://lattes.cnpq.br/5438563504010684Bruno, Leandro HenriqueSantos, Luigia Maria Nardi2022-03-23T22:29:21Z20222022-03-23T22:29:21Z2020info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/bachelorThesisapplication/pdfhttps://repositorio.cruzeirodosul.edu.br/handle/123456789/3296porinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessreponame:Repositório do Centro Universitário Braz Cubasinstname:Centro Universitário Braz Cubas (CUB)instacron:CUB2022-03-23T22:30:24Zoai:repositorio.cruzeirodosul.edu.br:123456789/3296Repositório InstitucionalPUBhttps://repositorio.brazcubas.edu.br/oai/requestbibli@brazcubas.edu.bropendoar:2022-03-23T22:30:24Repositório do Centro Universitário Braz Cubas - Centro Universitário Braz Cubas (CUB)false
