Resumo: The covid-19 pandemic affected the population with family losses, economic crisis and social distancing, which caused mental illness problems in the population. This study aims identify the effect of social distance in the rates of attempted suicide by exogenous intoxications in the state of Paraná. Methods: This study was based on the data present on Toxicological Information and Assistance Center of Paraná (agency that assists health services remotely in cases of exogenous poisoning or accidents with venomous animals) regarding a attending between January 1 and August 31, 2020, compared to the same period of 2018 and 2019. Results: a total of 2,251 cases were analyzed, with the period of greatest number of cases being the first semester of 2020 (when there were no restrictive measures related to the pandemic). There was a decline in the number of cases in the period of population confinement more restrictive, with June 2020 being the month with the lowest number of cases. Conclusions: The pandemic did not reflect an increase in suicide attempts by exogenous intoxication in the state of Paraná, it may be suggested that restrictive measures have functioned as a protective factor. It is hypothesized that family supervision has overcome psychosocial consequences caused by the pandemic, however, more studies are needed to assert this hypothesis.

Universidade PositivoBrasilMedicinaUPNisihara, Renatohttp://lattes.cnpq.br/9349031397383383Siqueira, Daniel Emilio Dalledonehttp://lattes.cnpq.br/4480462769286031Pinto, Amanda LobasBratfisch, FelipeSantos Júnior, José Alvino dosSchaaf, Monique RosmamOliveira, Talita Cristina Alves de2022-05-04T19:40:29Z20222022-05-04T19:40:29Z2021info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/bachelorThesisapplication/pdfhttps://repositorio.cruzeirodosul.edu.br/handle/123456789/3687porinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessreponame:Repositório do Centro Universitário Braz Cubasinstname:Centro Universitário Braz Cubas (CUB)instacron:CUB2022-05-04T19:42:57Zoai:repositorio.cruzeirodosul.edu.br:123456789/3687Repositório InstitucionalPUBhttps://repositorio.brazcubas.edu.br/oai/requestbibli@brazcubas.edu.bropendoar:2022-05-04T19:42:57Repositório do Centro Universitário Braz Cubas - Centro Universitário Braz Cubas (CUB)false
