Resumo: There are immediate consequences in the adoption of a monistic or dualistic worldview for the concept of human. The discovery of what it is to be a human begins in the communitarian being, when man realizes his attribute of making culture and it is in this that his value is revealed. The emergence of human rights sharply in the Western world has its roots in the contribution brought by Christianity. Human rights are transcendent and are only justified in an axiological ontology that gives man attributes that transcend matter.

A descoberta do que é ser um humano começa no ser comunitário, quando o homem realiza seu atributo de fazer cultura e é nesta que o seu valor se revela. O afloramento dos direitos humanos acentuadamente no mundo ocidental tem suas raízes na contribuição trazida pelo cristianismo.
