Resumo: This article has a dual purpose. The first is to discuss issues related to the teaching of the standard norm in the school together with the teaching of principles of linguistic innatism and linguistic variation, mainly in the context of schools in rural communities, where Kalunga quilombolas live; the second is to contribute to the awareness of the multilingual situation in Brazil and the need for public language education policies as a way of eradicating prejudice against rural speech, promoting the social inclusion of the student in the educational field, making the student acquire competence to realize that his speech is part of his culture.
