The practice of physical therapy in the postoperative period of proximal femoral fracture in the elderly in Brazil

Resumo: The subject of this article is the practice of physical therapy in the postoperative period of proximal femoral fractures in the elderly in Brazil, which investigated the limitations and impacts caused by proximal femoral fractures in the elderly and the importance of physical therapy in the postoperative period of these fractures, with the general objective of to analyze which treatments are indicated by physical therapy for proximal fractures of the femur in elderly people undergoing surgery, the methodologies used will be conceptual review and qualitative and descriptive literature review. In chapter I, it was observed that the elderly have many limitations after proximal femoral fracture, some reaching death, for not having a specific treatment in the postoperative period, which requires extra care regarding the elderly due to the risk of further falls. As for the investigations in Chapter II, it was analyzed that the impacts generated in these elderly people after proximal femoral fractures are delicate and cautious, as they have sleep difficulties, some use a gait device, among others, the psychological impacts that affect these elderly people are great in addition to the physical impact generated by falls and surgeries. Regarding chapter III, the importance of physiotherapy in the post-surgical period of the elderly public was observed, as they are already at advanced ages and the rehabilitation time must be taken into account because of the age groups. All objectives were achieved through the analyzed studies.

All objectives were achieved through the analyzed studies.O tema deste artigo é a prática da fisioterapia no pós operatório da fratura femoral proximal em idosos no Brasil, que investigou as limitações e os impactos causados pelas fraturas femorais proximais nos idosos e a importância da fisioterapia no pós operatório dessas fraturas, teve como objetivo geral analisar quais os tratamentos indicados pela fisioterapia para as fraturas proximais do fêmur em pessoas idosas submetidas a cirurgias, as metodologias utilizadas serão revisão conceitual e revisão bibliográfica qualitativa e descritiva. No capítulo I, observou-se que, os idosos têm muitas limitações pós fratura femoral proximal, alguns chegando até a morte, por não ter um tratamento específico no pós-operatório, o que requer cuidados extras referente aos idosos por riscos de novas quedas. Quanto as investigações do capítulo II, analisou-se que os impactos gerados nesses idosos pós fraturas femorais proximais são delicadas e cautelosas, pois têm dificuldades de sono, alguns usam dispositivo para marcha, entre outros, são grandes os impactos psicológicos que atingem esses idosos além do impacto físico gerado pelas quedas e cirurgias. No tangente ao capítulo III observou-se a importância da fisioterapia no pós-cirúrgico do público idoso, pois já são em idades avançadas e deve-se levar em conta o tempo de reabilitação por causa das faixas etárias.
