Resumo: This study aimed to understand the performance of physiotherapy in the treatment of babies with myelomeningocele. Limitations and restrictions vary according to the level of injury and the environment, including treatment to which the patient is submitted. Methodology: for this purpose, bibliographical research was carried out, when reviewing and discussing scientific articles that investigated the impact of physiotherapeutic approaches in children with MMC. Results: Physical therapy plays a fundamental role in the treatment and care of children with myelomeningocele, from birth, aiming at global development through motor aspects such as muscle strengthening, balance and prevention of deformities, meeting individual needs. Final considerations: Acting in an interdisciplinary way, the end result is an improvement in the quality of life and the possibility of increasing autonomy.
