Information is the basic element of society, especially in contemporary society which is characterized by the use and access of information through information and communication technologies. Considering its relevance, the objective was to reflect on it as an element of social inclusion through cultural centers, which play an important role in this society as potentiators to the development of people and, in particular, to characterize cultural centers through literature and understand the librarian as a mediator of information and culture in such a context. Therefore, the research had a qualitative approach, with exploratory and descriptive objectives, with a bibliographic technical procedure. The study showed that information, materialized in culture, is relevant for the inclusion and transformation of the subject, bringing benefits to itself and to society as a whole and that cultural centers are important instruments of access to it. The study also showed that cultural centers are spaces with the potential to promote social inclusion through various activities, with library activities being important to promote the mediation of information and culture.
