Resumo: The Human Development Index (HDI) is a standardized way to assess the welfare of a population consisting of the average obtained from three aspects: wealth, education and life expectancy. According to the report data from United Nations Development Programme - UNDP, it appears that countries that have reached the highest HDI are those that offer the greatest facilities of communication and information, such as access to computers and the Internet, amount of TVs and radios, access and read to newspaper. The overall goal of this research is to analyze the importance of information professionals for Human Development in your area, based on the numbers of the Sergipe state. Regarding methodology, it was made an exploratory and descriptive study, being collected information through Desk Research.

Según datos del informe del Programa de las Naciones Unidas para el Desarrollo (PNUD), parece que los países que han alcanzado un IDH más alto son los que ofrecen mayores facilidades de comunicación e información, como acceso a computadoras e Internet, de televisores y radios. , acceso y lectura del periódico. El objetivo general de esta investigación es analizar la importancia del profesional de la información para el Desarrollo Humano de su región, a partir de los números del Estado de Sergipe. En cuanto a la metodología, se realizó un estudio exploratorio/descriptivo, utilizando la recolección de información a través de Desk Research.O Índice de Desenvolvimento Humano (IDH) é uma maneira padronizada de avaliação do bem-estar de uma população, consistindo na média obtida através de três aspectos: riqueza, educação e esperança média de vida. De acordo com os dados do relatório do Programa das Nações Unidas para o Desenvolvimento (PNUD), verifica-se que os países que alcançaram os maiores IDH são os que ofertam as maiores facilidades de comunicação e informação, como acesso a computadores e Internet, quantidade de TVs e rádios, acesso e leitura a jornal. O objetivo geral da presente pesquisa é analisar a importância do profissional da informação para o Desenvolvimento Humano de sua região, tomando como base os números do Estado de Sergipe.
