Resumo: The information professional as essential component in the soccer’s club and this article approaches the importance of the information professional insertion inside the soccer’s club. Know the structure of the clubs, as well like identify the diverse information that are inserted in this context – internal and external environment – of these organizations is necessary for a better comprehension of the activities that the information professional can perform in the clubs. Carrying out a parallel with the organizational structure model proposal by Mintzberg (1995) with the structure of Marília Athletic Club stayed clear the need of the information professional insert, therefore the Club is inserted in a highly competitive environment, there is many information, but little explored.

El artículo aborda la importancia de insertar al profesional de la información dentro de los clubes de fútbol. Conocer la estructura de los clubes, así como identificar la diversa información que se incluye en este contexto, tanto en el ámbito interno como externo de estas organizaciones, es necesario para una mejor comprensión de las actividades que el profesional de la información puede realizar en los clubes. Haciendo un paralelo con el modelo de estructura organizacional propuesto por Mintzberg (1995) con la estructura de Marília Atlético Clube, se hizo evidente la necesidad de la inserción del profesional de la información, una vez que el Club está inserto en un ambiente altamente competitivo, donde hay una mucha información existente, pero poco explorada.O profissional da informação como componente essencial nos clubes de futebol. O artigo aborda a importância da inserção do profissional da informação dentro dos clubes de futebol. Conhecer a estrutura dos clubes, bem como identificar as diversas informações que estão inseridas neste contexto, tanto no ambiente interno, quanto no externo destas organizações é necessário para uma melhor compreensão das atividades que o profissional da informação pode desempenhar nos clubes.
