Conditions that researchers have faced during COVID-19 in the production of knowledge

Resumo: The article discusses the changes that have occurred during the COVID-19 pandemic in educational legislation, financing, and restrictions on physical presence, which has generated an atypical situation in higher education institutions. The objective is to analyze the institutional, family, and public policy conditions that researchers at Mexican State-run Public Universities have faced in the production of knowledge. It is a quantitative and explanatory study whose results are that 52% of the researchers consider that confinement did not help them to improve their academic productivity in quantitative terms, for 96% working from home has increased their working hours, 64% have postponed their academic productivity due to family conditions and 75% mention that public policies derived from the pandemic altered their research projects.

Os resultados deste estudo quantitativo e explicativo são que 52% dos pesquisadores consideram que o confinamento não os ajudou a melhorar sua produtividade acadêmica em termos quantitativos; para 96% o Home Office aumentou suas horas de trabalho; 64% adiaram sua produtividade acadêmica devido às condições familiares, e 75% mencionam que as políticas públicas derivadas da pandemia alteraram seus projetos de pesquisa.El artículo habla sobre los cambios que se han presentado durante la pandemia de COVID-19 en la legislación educativa, en el financiamiento y restricciones en la presencialidad, lo que ha generado una situación atípica en las instituciones de educación superior. El objetivo es analizar las condiciones institucionales, familiares y de las políticas públicas que las y los investigadores de las Universidades Públicas Estatales mexicanas han enfrentado en la producción de conocimiento.
