Resumo: | The movement and persistence of Metribuzin and Trifluralin pesticides in soil and uptake into soybeans (Glycine max (L.) Merrill), under field conditions was examined using gas chromatography. Metribuzin was quickly lost from soil, hall the dose of 210 g/ha remaining after about nine days and half of 630 g/ha alter twelve days. Trifluralin persisted longer, half a dose of 670 g/ha remaining after 38 days and half 1,110 after 61 days. Both compounds leached little and irrigation was insufficient to influence their behaviour. Trifluralin was not found in soybean plants but the small amounts of Metribuzin found in plants was sufficient to damage them. |

Merrill). O desaparecimento do Metribuzin do solo foi rápido: metade da dose de 210 g/ha persistiu após nove dias, e metade da dose de 630 g/ha, após doze dias. A trifluralina persistiu por mais tempo: metade da dose de 670 g/ha persistiu até 38 dias, e metade da dose de 1.110, até 61 dias. Ambos os compostos ofereceram pouca lixiviação, e a irrigação não influiu no comportamento dos dois herbicidas. Não foi assinalada presença de Trifluralina nas plantas de soja.
