Dry matter accumulation in two sunflower cultivars at three planting dates

Resumo: An experiment was carried out in order to study dry matter accumulation in the different plant parts of two sunflower cultivars, Contisol 711 and Contisol, during grain filling stage at three planting dates, September 5, October 14 and December 14. It was conducted in Guaíba, Rio Grande do Sul State, Brasil, during 1983/84 growing season. Samples were collected weekly from the emergence of first anther until all leaves were senescent. Plants were separated in green leaves, senescent leaves, stems, heads and grains. Linear and quadratic regressions, logarithmic and exponential functions were adjusted to the data obtained. Biological yield, heads and grain weight were higher at September planting date, regardless of cultivar. At this date, for both cultivars all organs had a longer duration. Contisol showed higher biological yieid, leaf and stem weight than 'Contisol 711', in all planting dates.

Contisol showed higher biological yieid, leaf and stem weight than 'Contisol 711', in all planting dates. Com a finalidade de estudar a distribuição e acúmulo de matéria seca nas diferentes estruturas da planta, durante o período de enchimento de grãos de cultivares de girassol (Helianthus annus L.), semeadas em três épocas, foi conduzido um experimento, no Município de Guaíba, RS, em 1983/84. As cultivares Contisol 711 e Contisol foram semeadas em 5 de setembro, 14 de outubro e 14 de dezembro de 1983. A partir do início de antese de cada cultivar até todas as folhas estarem senescentes, foram coletadas, semanalmente, amostras de plantas. Aos dados obtidos foram ajustadas equações de regressão linear e quadrática, funções logarítmica e exponencial. Constatou-se que, na semeadura de setembro, houve maior peso seco nas folhas, grãos e rendimento biológico. lgualmente verificou-se que o período de acúmulo de matéria seca nas folhas e nos capítulos foi mais longo, nesta época.
