Resumo: Two trials were carried out to evaluate tomato (Lycopersicum esculentum Mill.) cultivars resistance to Neoleucinodes elegantalis (Guenée). In 1989/90, 19 cultivars were tested and damaged and healthy fruits were evaluated. 'PSX-76' and 'IPA 1' were found to have 10.7% of fruits damaged whereas 'Olho Roxo' and 'Anahu' showed 33.8% and 31% respectively. In the second test in 1990/91, 11 cultivars were tested and 'Desconhecida' had 11% of their fruits bored. The most susceptible cultivars in this test were Anahu, Santa Clara and Olho Roxo, with 35.7%, 31.7% and 31.3% of damaged fruits, respectively.

Em 1989/90 foram testadas 19 cultivares, das quais sobressaíram-se PSX-76 e IPA 1, com percentual de infestação de 10,7%. As mais susceptíveis foram 'Olho Roxo' e 'Anahu', com 33,8% e 31% de infestação, respectivamente. No segundo teste, realizado em 1990/91, foram estudadas 11 cultivares, das quais 'Desconhecida' atingiu nível de infestação de 11%.
