Resumo: The objective of this experiment was to determine the best level of corn by barley substitution in diets for pigs during growing and finishing period. The level of 0%, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% substitution were compared using 120 Landrace x Large White pigs, with average initial and final weights of 22.63 kg ±0.40 kg and 96.59 kg ± 1.25 kg, respectively. Positive significant linear effects (P<0-01) were found for feed conversion ratio during the growing period (CÂC2) and for the total experiment period (CÂT2). The equations were: CÂC = 2.4384 + 0.0026X; R2 = O.71 and CÂT = 2.9359 + 0.0036X; R2 = 0.97. The crude protein digestible coefficient and digestible energy showed negative linear effects (P<0.05) as barley was increased in the diet. When intake and gain data were adjusted for a production function, it was found that the best level of corn barley substitution was 2.50%.

The crude protein digestible coefficient and digestible energy showed negative linear effects (P<0.05) as barley was increased in the diet. When intake and gain data were adjusted for a production function, it was found that the best level of corn barley substitution was 2.50%.Este trabalho teve por objetivo determinar o melhor nível de substituição do milho pela cevada, refugo de maltaria, em dietas para suínos em crescimento e terminação. Pesquisa Agropecuaria BrasileiraPesquisa Agropecuária BrasileiraBellaver, ClaudioFialho, Elias TadeuProtas, José Fernando da SilvaLeh, Gerald2014-04-17info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://seer.sct.embrapa.br/index.php/pab/article/view/14704Pesquisa Agropecuaria Brasileira; v.22, n.11/12, nov./dez. 1987; 1257-1263Pesquisa Agropecuária Brasileira; v.22, n.11/12, nov./dez. 1987; 1257-12631678-39210100-104xreponame:Pesquisa Agropecuária Brasileira (Online)instname:Empresa Brasileira de Pesquisa Agropecuária (Embrapa)instacron:EMBRAPAporhttps://seer.sct.embrapa.br/index.php/pab/article/view/14704/8391info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess2014-10-15T17:55:01Zoai:ojs.seer.sct.embrapa.br:article/14704Revistahttp://seer.sct.embrapa.br/index.php/pabPRIhttps://old.scielo.br/oai/scielo-oai.phppab@sct.embrapa.br || sct.pab@embrapa.br1678-39210100-204Xopendoar:2014-10-15T17:55:01Pesquisa Agropecuária Brasileira (Online) - Empresa Brasileira de Pesquisa Agropecuária (Embrapa)false
